LunaMood Privacy Policy
LunaMood is a tool for period tracking, cycle reminders, physical and emotional check-ins, and self-care. We take your personal information and privacy seriously, especially information about your periods, symptoms, emotions, and physical condition.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, protect, and manage your personal information, and how you can exercise your rights. Please read and understand it carefully before using LunaMood.

1. Information we collect and use
To provide period tracking, cycle reminders, physical and emotional check-ins, self-care, and insights, we may collect the following information depending on how you use the app.
- Account and sign-in information
When you register or sign in to LunaMood using a phone number, we may collect:
Phone number
Verification code validation result
Account ID
Sign-in status
Account creation time
Device sign-in information
We use this information for account registration, sign-in verification, identification, account security, and service delivery.
- Basic profile and cycle settings
When you use period tracking and cycle reminders, you may choose to enter or configure:
Nickname or preferred name
Age or date of birth
Start date of your most recent period
Average cycle length
Average period length
Reminder settings
Other cycle-related information you choose to provide
We use this information to help you record periods, organize cycle information, and provide period predictions and reminders.
- Period, physical, and emotional records
When using logging features, you may choose to record:
Flow intensity
Records related to the start and end of periods
Physical symptoms such as abdominal pain, lower back aches, tiredness, and breast tenderness
Everyday experiences such as sleep, diet, and exercise
Mood and emotional changes
PMS, premenstrual symptoms, and luteal-phase experiences
Notes, diary entries, or other content you enter
This information helps you keep period, physical, and emotional records and access cycle reviews and insights.
This information may reflect your physical condition, health, or other private circumstances and is relatively sensitive. We process it only as necessary for LunaMood’s core features and apply corresponding security measures.
- Self-care records
When you use self-care features such as relaxing audio, breathing exercises, body relaxation, and cognitive records, we may record:
Self-care content you have used
Whether you started or completed an exercise
Exercise duration
Favorites, preferences, or history
Cognitive records or feelings you choose to enter
We use this information to display your practice history, help you develop self-care habits, and provide material for reflection in your insights.
LunaMood’s self-care content is intended only for everyday companionship, relaxation practice, and self-observation. It does not constitute medical diagnosis, psychotherapy, or medical advice.
- Notifications and reminders
If you enable period reminders, logging reminders, or other notifications, we may use:

We use this information to send period, cycle, logging, or self-care reminders. You can turn off relevant notifications in the app or in your device settings.

To keep the app working, investigate issues, and improve service stability, we may collect:

Operation times and some feature usage records
This information is mainly used for troubleshooting, service security, performance optimization, and improvements to the product experience.

We use this information to address your issue, provide support, and improve the service.
- Subscription and payment information
If LunaMood offers memberships, subscriptions, or in-app purchases, payments are generally processed by the Apple App Store. We do not obtain your bank card number, full payment account details, or payment password.
We may receive information necessary for a purchase, such as:

Subscription status
Transaction receipt or order identifier
Membership benefit status
We use this information to confirm transactions, activate membership benefits, process refunds, or resolve subscription issues.
2. How we use your information
We use your information for the following purposes:
Providing account registration, sign-in, and account security
Providing period tracking, cycle reminders, and cycle reviews
Providing physical and emotional check-ins and notes
Providing self-care features such as relaxing audio, breathing exercises, body relaxation, and cognitive records
Generating monthly reviews, trend analyses, and insights
Sending period, logging, and self-care reminders
Maintaining the app’s security, stability, and normal operation
Investigating issues, handling feedback, and improving the experience
Complying with laws, regulations, and regulatory requirements, or resolving disputes
We do not use your period, symptom, emotional, or self-care records for third-party advertising targeting, and we do not sell your personal information to data brokers.
3. Sensitive personal information
Information you record in LunaMood about periods, bleeding, physical symptoms, emotional states, PMS, or premenstrual symptoms may be sensitive personal information or health-related information.
We process this information to provide period tracking, cycle reminders, physical and emotional check-ins, self-care, and insights. If you choose not to provide it, you may be unable to use these features, or use them fully. This does not affect your use of other basic LunaMood services, subject to the features actually available in the app.
We protect this information through measures such as encryption, permission controls, access restrictions, and data minimization. We will not provide your sensitive personal information to unrelated third parties unless you authorize us, the law requires it, or it is necessary to provide the service.
4. Processing by service providers, sharing, transfer, and public disclosure
- Processing by service providers
To provide a stable service, we may engage third-party providers to process necessary information, for example:
Cloud servers or data storage services
SMS verification services
Crash analysis and performance monitoring
Usage statistics and product analytics
Support and feedback tools
Apple App Store payment services
We require these providers to process information according to our instructions, this Policy, and applicable laws and regulations, and not to use it for their own unrelated purposes.
Current third-party services include:
Alibaba Cloud: sending SMS verification codes.
- Sharing
We do not proactively share your personal information with unrelated third parties. We may share necessary information only in the following circumstances:
With your explicit consent
When necessary for a feature you choose to use
To comply with laws, regulations, regulatory requirements, or requests from judicial or administrative authorities
When necessary to protect your lawful rights, ours, or those of other users
With our affiliates or service providers to the extent necessary to provide and maintain the service
- Transfer
If a merger, division, acquisition, asset transfer, or similar transaction involves transferring personal information, we will require the new holder to remain bound by this Policy. If the new holder changes the purposes or methods of processing, we will require it to obtain your consent again.
- Public disclosure
We will not publicly disclose your personal information unless you separately consent or laws or regulations require it.
5. How we store your information
We retain your personal information for the time necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy.
In general:
Account information is retained while your account exists.
Period, symptom, emotional, and self-care records are retained until you delete them, delete your account, or we stop providing the service.
Logs, crash reports, and diagnostic information are retained for as long as needed for troubleshooting and security.
Where the law requires retention, we follow the legally required period.
When a retention period ends, or you delete information or your account, we will delete or anonymize the relevant information within a reasonable period, unless laws or regulations provide otherwise.
After account deletion, the relevant personal information will be deleted or anonymized within 15 working days, unless laws or regulations provide otherwise.
6. How we protect your information
We take reasonable security measures to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, use, modification, damage, or loss of personal information. These measures include:

Account permission management
Classification and management of sensitive information

Security monitoring
Restrictions on employee or partner access
De-identification or anonymization where necessary
No internet service can guarantee absolute security. We will make efforts to protect your information, and recommend that you keep your account details secure and do not disclose verification codes, account details, or other identity credentials to others.
7. Your rights
You may exercise the following rights over your personal information in accordance with the law:
- Access and copies
You can view your period, physical, emotional, and self-care records and your account information in the app.
- Correction and supplementation
If your personal information is inaccurate or incomplete, you can edit it in the app or contact us using the details in this Policy.
- Deletion
You can delete some of the information you have chosen to record. You can also contact us to request deletion of relevant personal information.
- Withdrawal of consent
You can withdraw certain authorizations or consent by turning off permissions or reminders, stopping the entry of relevant information, or contacting us. We will then stop processing the corresponding information. This does not affect processing already carried out on the basis of your consent.
- Account deletion
You can request account deletion through “Profile — Delete account,” or contact us at yingyueyuxiaoyu@163.com.
After account deletion, we will stop providing account-related services and delete or anonymize the relevant personal information in accordance with the law and this Policy.

8. Device permissions
LunaMood may request the following system permissions as needed for its features:
Notifications: to send period, logging, and self-care reminders.
Network access: for sign-in, data synchronization, content loading, and service connections.
Photo library: when you choose to change your avatar, to select a photo from the system photo library, crop it, and upload it.
You may decline a permission that is not necessary for a core feature. This may prevent the relevant feature from working, but does not affect other features.
Other than when you actively use the avatar selection feature, LunaMood does not read other images in your photo library. LunaMood does not currently proactively access your contacts, precise location, microphone, or camera. If related features are added in the future, we will use them after obtaining your authorization.
9. Cycle predictions, insights, and automated processing
LunaMood uses the period, physical, emotional, and self-care data you choose to record to generate cycle predictions, reminders, trend reviews, and insights.
These are for everyday logging and self-observation only. They do not constitute medical diagnoses, treatment recommendations, a basis for contraception, or other medical decisions.
If you experience unusual bleeding, severe pain, persistently irregular periods, pregnancy-related concerns, or other significant discomfort, promptly consult a qualified doctor.
10. Protection of minors
LunaMood is not specifically directed at children under 14.
If you are under 14, please use LunaMood with the consent and guidance of a parent or other guardian. We protect minors’ personal information as required by law.
If a guardian discovers that a minor has used LunaMood and provided personal information without consent, the guardian may contact us using the details in this Policy. We will handle the matter in accordance with the law.
11. Cross-border transfers
We do not currently transfer your personal information outside mainland China.
12. Third-party links and services
LunaMood may include links to third-party services, websites, or content. Those services are operated by their respective providers, and this Policy does not apply to their processing of personal information.
Please read the third party’s privacy policy or relevant information before using its services.
13. Updates to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy in response to product features, laws and regulations, or operational circumstances.
If an update materially changes the purposes, methods, or categories of personal information processing, or your rights, we will notify you through in-app dialogs, notifications, page notices, or other reasonable methods.
We will not reduce the rights you enjoy under this Policy without your consent.
